NEWPORT, NH – A 25-year-old Claremont man was charged with multiple sexual assaults against a woman he knew.
Sage Sundell faces seven serious sexual assault offenses last month following Sullivan County’s grand jury indictments.
The charges stem from a series of alleged sexual assaults against the same woman that began in November 2019 when the woman claimed she tried to push Sundell off her before he attacked her.
The next six alleged attacks had similar circumstances. The woman alleged that Sundell held her when she was alleged to have refused to have sex with him. The last alleged attack occurred in July 2020, according to the indictment.
In addition to the sexual assault charges, according to a case summary, Sundell faces three domestic violence charges, five misconduct charges of simple assault, and criminal harm and stalking charges. No affidavits were available for any of his charges.
A judge ordered Sundell to be arrested without bail in February, and his next trial is a hearing scheduled for July 12.
