Veteran Steve Wortham regularly honors fallen heroes with group motorcycle companions at memorial services, including those from his own family
An uncle of his, who fought in Normandy and was wounded on D-Day, died in 2019 at the age of 97.
“That’s one of the harder ones I’ve had to do,” said Wortham. “I told my cousin and daughter many years ago that if they wanted us, just let me know when the time was needed and we would be there.”
Wortham rides with the Patriot Guard Riders, a statewide nonprofit that ensures dignity and respect at memorial services for fallen military heroes, first responders, and honorably discharged veterans.
