Palm Coast man faces cost after manipulating teen for intercourse, deputies say

PALM COAST, Fla. – The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office credits an anonymous lead for the arrest of a man accused of sexually abusing a 15-year-old girl.

Gaston Santos Jr., 34, was arrested Thursday after confessing to having sex with the victim, despite knowing she was a minor, according to a press release.

Investigators said Santos manipulated the girl into believing the two were in a relationship. The man told her to lie about his age and to train her to say he was “about her age,” according to records.

“This is a sick and twisted person who chased a young child and turned them into an adult relationship,” Sheriff Rick Staly said in a press release. “Fortunately someone came forward to alert us and our detectives worked quickly to make an arrest. We hope the victim gets the help they need to recover. “

Santos is faced with a load of lewd and lascivious batteries in a child.

Investigators believe some of the abuse may have taken place outside of the county. Detectives said they are working to identify the location and alert the relevant law enforcement agency.
