Orange’s Escort Manner closes after early-morning truck accident | Central Western Each day

News, Local News, Crash, Truck, Frozen Food, Orange, Escort Walk

The Escort Way was closed in both directions for nearly two hours early Saturday morning after a truck full of frozen food rolled off the side of the road. Sergeant Anthony Borland of the Central West Police District said the driver turned to avoid hitting a kangaroo and the recent rain has made the shoulder of the road too soft to support the weight of the trailer and the rolled over vehicle. The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. and emergency services visited the scene. “There was no spillage on the road and the driver was unharmed,” said Sergeant Boland. The road was closed in both directions between 6 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. and there were detours. A crane was used to pull the vehicle upright and the driver was able to continue on his route.
