An assistant principal at a San Bernardino County high school was arrested for repeated sexual abuse of a girl who was 7 and 8 years old at the time of the alleged crimes.
Matthew Lin Johnson, a 42-year-old assistant principal at Oak Hills High School, was charged last week with constant sexual abuse of a minor, including lewd and lascivious acts with a child under the age of 14, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. Johnson was booked into the county jail and held without bail.
There is currently no evidence that Johnson had “improper contact with students at the school,” authorities said.
The girl, who is now 10 years old, alerted the sheriff’s officers that she had been sexually assaulted and opened an investigation, authorities said. According to official sources, Johnson, an Apple Valley resident, was identified as a suspect.
Officials said anyone with additional information was asked to contact Deputy Vanayes Quezada at (909) 387-3615 for details of the crimes against children from the Specialized Inquiry Department.
