Native males charged with baby intercourse crimes at Malta resort | Information

MALTA, NY – On June 24, Vincent L. Avila, 22, of Schenectady and Michael T. May, 25, of Mechanicville were arrested in connection with an incident that occurred on July 4, 2020 at a hotel in Malta and charged.

The incident was reported in April 2021 and the investigation led to allegations that May was hosting a night party from July 3, 2020 to July 4, 2020, providing alcohol and marijuana to minors, as well as engaging in sexual activities, the authorities announced in a press release.

It is further alleged that Avila had oral sexual contact with two women, one 16 and one 17, at the party at the time.

Officials said Avila has been charged with charges of third-degree criminal sexual act, sexual abuse, endangering the well-being and abuse of a child.

According to a press release, May was charged with one charge of endangering the best interests of the child and one of illegally handling a child.

Avila has been tried in the Maltese City Court, where he was allowed to stay free on bail held with the court for a previous crime.

May is later charged with his charges.
