Mumbai couple held for providing male escort job- The New Indian Specific

CHENNAI: Central Crime Branch (CCB) investigators arrested a married couple for allegedly cheating on a person with multiple lakhs by making false promises to recruit them as male escorts. According to police, the defendants, identified as Dipankar Das Navis and Yasmin Khan Resul Begum, were arrested by Mumbai police in February for producing pornographic films.

You were brought to Chennai on Friday for a case registered here. A senior CCB police officer said the couple had called “MenxHer” on their website for men willing to offer escort services to women traveling from abroad.

“It was claimed on the website that men who are willing to sign up will have to pay a registration fee. If their profile is “liked” by female tourists, they will be contacted for “services”. The men were promised that they would also receive a large amount, ”said the officer.

It was in this belief that a Manish Gupta of Anna Nagar, a businessman, came across the website in 2019 and approached the couple. Police said the couple typically charge between Rs 10,000 and Rs 20,000 per person for registration. However, Manish was betrayed by multiple transactions with a tune of 16.51 lakh. When Manish found he had been betrayed, he filed a complaint with the CCB.

The couple had been in hiding since then. CCB officials who were unable to reach them at the time shared their details with Mumbai police before they returned. The couple was arrested on Friday and their bank accounts were frozen.
