Ms. Berejiklian said she supported Mr. Barilaro’s comment and added that she was “absolutely disgusted, absolutely disgusted”.
On Sydney Radio 2 GB, she said, “When a colleague or former colleague does that, it’s more than disgusting and I’ll say he’s no longer a member of the Nationals. He’s on the crossbench.
“Of course there is a police investigation going on so I can’t say more, but in general I want all workplaces to be respectful of women.”
Mr. Johnsen’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The government holds 46 seats in the lower house with 93 seats. There are five independents, three Green MPs, and three members of the Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party.
