M5 visitors: a number of irregular masses going from Gloucester Providers to Forest of Dean with police escort
Several unusual loads are driving through Gloucestershire this week. Drivers are warned to expect delays on the affected roads in the coming days.
A series of modular buildings will be relocated from Gloucester Services on the M5 to the Forest of Dean between today (Monday May 10) and Thursday (May 13).
Each escort will comprise between four and eight heavy duty vehicles and will travel from Southern Services on the M5 to Junction 12 of the Autobahn.
From there the convoys drive along the B4008, A38 to Gloucester, A430, A40, A4136, Baynham Road, Mitcheldean through the Stenders to Drybrook.

The drivers have been warned that travel interruptions can be expected on the affected routes in the coming days.
A statement from Gloucestershire Constabulary thanked the residents for their patience while these transmissions were made.
The statement said: “The Gloucestershire Constabulary will be escorting a number of abnormal loads from the M5 to the Forest of Dean this week, which may cause delays for drivers traveling in the county.
“A series of modular buildings will be escorted by Gloucester Services on the south carriageway of the M5 to Drybrook from today through Thursday.
“Convoys leave M5 Junction 12 at 10am before heading to Drybrook on the B4008, A38 to Gloucester, A430, A40, A4136, Baynham Road, Mitcheldean, through the Stenders.
“The escorts will comprise between four and eight heavy-duty vehicles and will likely cause travel disruptions.
“The residents of Baynham Road in Mitcheldean are again thanked for their cooperation as these movements roam the area.”
