A Longmont woman accused of having sex with a 15-year-old girl on multiple occasions has signed a plea contract in her case.

Chelsea Vigorita, 29, pleaded guilty on February 5 of attempting sexual assault on a child by a trusting person and third degree assault.

Boulder District Attorney spokeswoman Shannon Carbone said there were no penal agreements on any indictment.

Vigorita could face intense suspended probation or two to six years in prison on attempted sexual assault charges and up to two years’ imprisonment for third degree assault.

Prosecutors dismissed the remaining charges, including sexual assault on a child and contributing to the crime of a minor.

Vigorita will be sentenced to a hearing on April 9 after a pre-judgment investigation and psychosexual evaluation.

“The victim was informed and supported by this plea for this defendant,” said Carbone of the plea.

Vigorita stays free for a $ 1,000 bond.

A co-defendant in the case, Robert Rexroad, remains on trial for contributing to a minor’s crime in June.

According to an affidavit, Vigorita was known to the named victim and her family and was entrusted as a “good role model for young adults”.

However, witnesses reported finding evidence of sexual activity between teenage Vigorita and Rexroad, as well as sexually explicit videos.

In an interview, the teen told investigators that she had threesomes with Rexroad and Vigorita several times in April 2019. The teenager also said Vigorita and Rexroad gave her marijuana and alcohol on those occasions.

The girl told investigators that she had sex with only Vigorita at least once.

Vigorita told police that she did not have sex with the teenager and did not give her alcohol or marijuana. But Rexroad admitted in his interview that he and Vigorita had sex with the teenager several times and provided her with alcohol and drugs.

Police received Facebook messages between Vigorita and Rexroad, including texts in which Rexroad said, “I’m glad you bought condoms,” referring to the teen sleeping over there.

There were also recovered conversations between Rexroad and the teen and a group thread between Rexroad, Vigorita, and the teen that had been sworn to contain evidence of sexual activity.

“A thorough check of Facebook account details shows that both Chelsea and Robert knew the age (of the victim) (15 years), their sexual relationship and alcohol / marijuana use,” the affidavit reads.
