LAKEWOOD – A community man is being prosecuted for trying to lure a 16-year-old girl into his vehicle for sex at the Highpoint Condominium complex, police said in a Facebook post.

Julio Anchia, 40, of Lakewood, attempted to lure the teen into his car on March 31, but the girl declined his advances and recorded the interaction on her phone, according to the mail.

The girl did not know her identity, but a “concerned citizen” helped police identify the Anchia, according to local authorities.

The police charged him with second degree attempted seduction, second degree sexual assault attempt, and third degree attempted to endanger a child’s welfare.

He stayed in Ocean County Jail in Toms River on Sunday evening.
