Half-Time Police Officer, Firefighter In West Virginia Charged With Intercourse Assault – CBS Pittsburgh
MADISON, W.Va. (AP) – West Virginia police have charged a part-time police officer and a probationer fireman with two sexual assaults.
Christopher Lee Osborne, 25, of Uneeda, Boone County, was arrested Wednesday and detained in the Southwestern Regional Jail, news outlets reported, citing officials. Osborne is a probation officer for the Charleston Fire Department and a part-time police officer from Marmet, who was also a member of the Danville Volunteer Fire Department.
According to a criminal complaint filed on Jan. 25, the West Virginia State Police received a complaint about a sexual assault involving a youth that took place at the Danville Fire Department. A second criminal complaint accused Osborne of sexual assault in 2018 at a Madison residence.
Osborne has been fired from both fire departments, officials said.
Marmet police chief John J. Perrine said Osborne had been suspended without pay pending the outcome of his case.
It wasn’t immediately clear whether Osborne had a lawyer.
