Season four of NBC’s Good Girls really put Stan (Reno Wilson) and Ruby (Retta) to the test as they try to mend their marriage. Ruby is still playing with Beth and Annie in Michigan while Stan tries to make ends meet at the strip joint. Stan is tired of being a collector – beating people up for Greg – but he has no choice. Greg has corrupt cops on the books and all the evidence he needs to push Stan away. All of this and the guilt of being a full fledged criminal really weighs on Stan so much that he drinks with Greg during the day at a hotel.

The situation becomes a little uncomfortable for Stan when Greg meets him. He comments on Stan’s physique and touches him inappropriately. However, it turns out that Greg is checking him out because he wants Stan to meet with someone else. That is why they are primarily in a fancy hotel. Greg tries to loosen Stan at the bar to do male escort duties.

Stan doesn’t want to, but Greg threatens that he can let Ruby pay off the debt instead. As a result, Stan does what he’s supposed to, but by this point Ruby is already suspicious. She caught him lying because he was at the club eating his lunch, and she asks Beth – whose husband she left years ago – if it seems like an affair. Later, while inspecting Stan’s car, Ruby finds a wallet and tells her to face him.

Stan reveals that Greg caught him stealing and made him his lackey. He doesn’t go into the details of his private meeting, but insists that it was all about convincing a lady to work with Greg to bring in fake purses. Ruby trusts he won’t cheat on her and believes the lie. But when Stan leaves, he has a thoughtful and somewhat shameful cloud over him. We never saw what happened in the hotel room, and he got pretty good at hiding the truth for his family from his wife. For now, only time will tell if Stan really crossed the line.

Good girls play Christina Hendricks, Mae Whitman, Retta, Matthew Lillard, Reno Wilson, and Manny Montana. Season 4 airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET / PT on NBC.

I am a former chemical engineer. It was boring and I decided to write about things I love. On the geek side, I write about comics, cartoons, video games, television, movies, and basically anything nerdy. I also write about music related to punk, indie, hardcore and emo because they rock! If you’re bored by now, you don’t want to hear me write on the PR page for ESPN either. And yes, I wrote sports for her too! Not bad for someone from the Caribbean, right? To top it off, I’ve written short films and documentaries, and designed stories and scripts from the perspective of human interest and social justice. In business terms, I do (not really) great cheddar as a copywriter and digital strategist working with some of the top brands in the Latin America region. In conclusion, let me remind you that the geek is going to inherit the earth. Oh, for your information, I’d love to write the Gargoyles film for Disney. YOLO.
