Fortis Escorts suspends new admissions

New Delhi: While hospitals continue to raise alarms about lack of oxygen, the Fortis Escorts Heart Institute has announced that it will not admit new patients.

The hospital sent an SOS alert saying it was only oxygenated for an hour.

The cardiologist at Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, Dr. Nishith Chandra, tweeted a picture of the notice outside the hospital, saying, “Things are getting very grim. This is the situation of my Fortis Escorts Heart Institute hospital in New Delhi, one of the best heart center hospitals in India.” Chandra tweeted on the picture of the notification: “We reported this impending situation to all authorities in good time and have been waiting for promised deliveries since yesterday. At the moment we have no more options and are suspending new admissions and emergency services until the situation improves.” We try to treat admitted patients to the best of our ability. ”

Around 100 patients are supplied with oxygen at the Fortis Escorts Heart Institute.

At around 11 a.m., another hospital in the state capital, Pentamed Hospital said it left with an hour of oxygen. “Pentamed Hospital without oxygen supply. Almost 50 Covid patients with oxygen support.
