Agricultural machinery manufacturer Escorts Agri Machinery reported an increase in tractor sales of 30.6 percent to 11,230 units in February.
The company had sold 8,601 units in February 2020.
Domestic tractor sales totaled 10,690 units last month, up from 8,049 units in February 2020, an increase of 32.8 percent, Escorts said in a regulated release.
Escorts Agri Machinery said tractor demand is expected to remain strong due to positive macroeconomic factors and strong rural cash flow.
The supply-side situation is normal, but rising inflation remains a cause for concern, the company added.
Exports last month were 540 units compared to 552 units in February last year.
