Escorts to announce well being advantages for workers as dealerships

Escorts Ltd, one of the largest tractor manufacturers in the country, announced on Monday the decision to offer financial assistance to employees at car dealerships with their Covid-19 treatment. The company will also help dealers by paying their employees’ vaccination costs.

As part of the “Covid-Shield” program, the company pays an employee of a retailer an amount of 20,000 after testing positive for Covid-19.

“In addition, Escorts reimburses all sales representatives of its dealers for the vaccination costs. Escorts has also announced a grant from 1 lakh for the family of the deceased dealer employee as additional financial support for the dealer staff. The above programs are run with the support of Escorts Dealers Development Association Limited (EDDAL), a unique collaborative venture between escorts and its dealers, ”said a company statement.

It added that Escorts will also reimburse vaccination costs for all sales representatives of its dealers. The company also has a grant from 1 lakh for the family of the deceased employee in the dealership as additional financial support for the dealership staff.

With dealers under financial pressure to repay bank loans, automakers are helping to maintain dealer partners’ creditworthiness. Similarly, offering insurance benefits to car dealership employees will also help boost their morale when showrooms open after the regional lockdowns.

“Service to the rural community is our main goal. Our dealer employees play an outstanding role in this. Through our Covid relief efforts for traders, we want to ensure their well-being so that in turn they can continue to serve the farmers of our land, “said Shenu Agarwal, CEO of Escorts Agri Machinery.

Earlier this month, Escorts Ltd also announced health benefits for customers who will purchase its tractors after May 25th to boost sales.

Another tractor manufacturer, Sonalika Tractors, also announced financial benefits for executives of its dealerships infected with Covid-19. This includes a total of up to 25,000 payable by the company to cover medical expenses incurred by a car dealership employee due to Covid-19 infection.
