Boyfriend in Macon youngster intercourse abuse case pleads responsible, will get 10 years in jail | Crime and Courts
DECATUR – Jesse W. Demascal, the Macon man who worked with his girlfriend to sexually abuse their three children – all under the age of 13 – pleaded guilty and was jailed for 10 years.
The trial of 32-year-old Demascal was slated to begin on Monday, until he surprisingly appeared in court on Friday, filing two guilty lawsuits against two charges of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
The confessions of guilt were part of a plea negotiated by his defense attorney Monroe McWard. In turn, Special Prosecutor Kate Kurtz agreed to drop two cases of predatory sexual abuse, four cases of aggravated sexual abuse, six cases of child sexual exploitation and one case of child exploitation.
Demascal’s 33-year-old girlfriend and the children’s mother, Ashley N. Jobe, were sentenced to 10 years in prison on Jan. 20 after making the same plea deal on the same two charges. In her case, prosecutors dropped four cases of predatory criminal sexual assault, one case of exacerbated criminal sexual abuse, four cases of sexual exploitation of a child and one case of child exploitation.

Kurtz had told the court at the time Jobe was sentenced that she believed the plea was in the best interests of the children and had saved them from the emotional pain of court judgments and questioning.
