Bettendorf police arrest man on intercourse abuse cost involving 7-year-old | Native Crime & Courts

Bettendorf Police have arrested a Webster County man for sexual abuse.

Anthony Michael Welter, 31, who listed his town as Harcourt, Iowa, on court documents, is charged with second degree sexual abuse.

According to the affidavit of Bettendorfer police officer Ashley Guffey, Welter carried out a sex act on a 7-year-old girl on Friday at 10:37 p.m.

Welter was admitted to Scott County Jail at 6:15 am on Saturday.

He first appeared in Scott County District Court where Scott County Judge Korie Talkington set Welter’s bond at $ 250,000 in cash or in bail.

Welter was held in Scott County Jail on Saturday night.

The prison records also show that Welter has an arrest warrant for him from Sac County, although the court records do not list the charges from that county. Sac County is located off Highway 20 between Sioux City and Fort Dodge.

A preliminary hearing on the case is scheduled for April 20 in Scott County District Court.
