Belagavi, March 28th: The dispute between former BJP Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi and the President of the Karnataka Congress, DK Shivakumar, intensified on Sunday March 28th. Jarkiholi supporters protested Shivakumar near the airport and threw stones at his support vehicle.
DK Shivakumar is in town to run for the upcoming goodbye elections.
Police resorted to Lathi charges when protesters attempted to collect vehicles in the wake of DK Shivakumar. Some of the protesters were taken into custody by the police. This created a tense situation near the airport.
Speaking to the media before arriving in Belagavi, Shivakumar said: “The police suspect the investigation of SIT is in the CD case to save your face.”
In response to the protest in Belagavi, Shivakumar said, “What use are these people? I’m visiting the district to promote the Lok Sabha farewell elections. I don’t want security.”
Regarding the CD case, Shivakumar said, “He (Ramesh Jarkiholi) makes countless declarations himself and through other people he brings to the city from other parts of the state. Let the police keep their honor. Let them Government I’m not going to file a defamatory case. They are trying to close the case without asking. The victim’s girl’s parents have filed a complaint.
