OMAHA, Neb. (AP) – An Omaha man accused of sexually abusing three men for years in exchange for drugs and cash was held on Friday on $ 10 million bail.
Steven Danon, 65, first appeared in court in 12 child sexual assault-related crimes. He would have to pay a million dollars to get out of custody.
Authorities began investigating Danon in September 2019 when a man notified police that Danon had been sexually assaulted from the age of 11 to adulthood.
Two other men later came forward with similar stories, saying Danon gave them drugs and money in exchange for several years of sexual activity, The Omaha World-Herald reported.
Danon, who is the director of safety at an insurance company, has served on the Nebraska State Emergency Calling Committee since 1997. Taylor Gage, a spokesman for Governor Pete Ricketts, said Danon will be banned from serving on the commission on Friday.
